Harvey is built for law firms, corporate legal departments and professional services firms that need legal AI across many users and matters. Its customers page says Harvey is used by more than 200,000 lawyers across 2,400+ organizations in 70 countries. Named customers include large law firms such as A&O Shearman and Reed Smith, plus enterprises such as Deutsche Telekom and KKR. The homepage also reports 75+ AmLaw 100 firms as customers.
That audience shapes the product. The features below matter most when a whole firm, not one person, relies on the tool:
- Document scale - Vault stores and bulk-analyzes documents, with up to 100,000 documents per vault.
- Licensed legal content - Knowledge draws on content partners including LexisNexis and Wolters Kluwer, plus EUR-Lex and SEC EDGAR, according to the Knowledge page.
- Where lawyers already work - The platform page lists Microsoft Word, Outlook, iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint and Google Drive.
Who is the AI Crucible Legal Team built for?
The Legal Team is for founders, operators and legal teams who want a contract or regulation read from several angles. How does the AI Crucible Legal Team work?
The Legal Team runs an Expert Panel. Each role is filled by a different AI model with its own brief. The panel works across rounds, and the Supervising Attorney weighs the positions and signs off. The panel is designed so disagreement surfaces instead of hiding. The lead must separate what is settled from what depends on jurisdiction or missing facts.

Each role runs on a different model. The Case Law Researcher joins at Standard and can search the web. It does not have access to licensed legal databases like the ones Harvey lists.
Can a multi-model panel catch AI legal mistakes?
A multi-model panel can catch some mistakes a single model would ship, because a second model reads the first one critically. It is not a guarantee. We documented one legal case where it worked: a panel reviewed a brief on the FTC non-compete rule. One model invented a Supreme Court appeal, and another model flagged it as fabricated.

The lesson cuts both ways. The panel caught the error, but a model produced it in the first place. Treat any case citation from any AI tool as unverified until you check the source.

Is Harvey also multi-model?
Yes. Harvey says it uses models from several providers. A March 2026 post, Why Harvey is Multi-Model by Design, names models from Anthropic, Google and OpenAI. It says Harvey routes work to models automatically, and that administrators and users can pick a preferred model. The difference is in how models are used on one question.
Harvey's pages describe routing each task to a suitable model. They do not describe several models answering the same question and critiquing each other. AI Crucible is built around that pattern: distinct roles, multiple rounds, and a lead who reconciles disagreement.
Harvey's platform also includes agent teams. Its homepage describes agents that execute legal work end to end. Those are task agents inside Harvey's product, not a user-visible debate between models.
How do security and data handling compare?
Harvey publishes detailed enterprise security commitments. Its security page lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and ISO 42001, alongside GDPR and CCPA. It offers SAML SSO, IP allow-listing, ethical wall enforcement, and data residency in the EU and Switzerland, the US, or Australia. AI Crucible does not advertise equivalent certifications or firm-level controls.
Harvey's security page also says it contractually commits not to use customer inputs, outputs or documents to train models.
AI Crucible keeps AI provider keys on the server, and the browser never touches the database directly. Plans differ on attachment retention: 30 days on Starter and unlimited on Pro. There is no SSO, ethical wall or data residency option.
If your firm's policies require those controls, Harvey is the appropriate choice. Do not paste privileged client material into a tool that does not meet your firm's standards.

When should you choose Harvey over AI Crucible?
